Sometimes the first step is to start with ourselves. As we say on the production team, when we start to take care of our own natural resources — through diet & exercise — we naturally progress towards taking care of those around us and the environment we find ourselves in.
Happy healthy couple, Joy and Edrick Mendoza, shared with us how they not only take care of themselves but also each other. Here are some of the things we picked up with a couple that runs and plays badminton together.
1. Sharing a sport is a great way to keep each other motivated. When someone is waiting for you, you’ll get off the couch and workout.
2. It’s a good time to bond and talk. There are no kids and no other things to do except be in the moment.
3. Exercise gives you energy. Working out actually relaxes you, clears your mind, and gives you energy to embrace the day as a parent, business owner, or employee.
4. Shared sports builds on the relationship. It develops character & helps put things into perspective. As the two say, the marriage is more important than the missed shot on the court.
